European Research Academy on Alzheimer’s Disease
Develop your career in Alzheimer’s research. Learn how to become an independent researcher, identify your niche, and expand your professional network.
The Alzheimer Forschung Initiative e.V., Alzheimer Nederland, Fondation Vaincre Alzheimer and the Stiftung Synapsis Schweiz present the European Research Academy on Alzheimer’s Disease (ERA-AD).
This five-day academy is designed for early-career researchers in Alzheimer’s and dementia research. Participants will learn from renowned scientists how to become independent researchers.
Prominent scientists will also present their latest findings and provide valuable insights. Combined with daily professional development sessions, the academy helps participants find their research niche.

Applications are accepted from PhD/MD students in their third year and beyond, as well as from postdocs within six years of completing their doctorate. Parental leave (one year per child) is taken into account.
Applicants must be employed at
- a German public state university
- a public medical center
- an institution that belongs to the Leibniz Gemeinschaft, Helmholtz Association, the Max Planck Society or the Fraunhofer Society.
