For a future without dementia

Alzheimer’s and Dementia Research Funding

The Alzheimer Forschung Initiative e.V. (AFI) offers grants to support researchers at German universities and research institutions who are working in the field of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

Research Grants, Early Career Grants and Cross Border Grants are awarded annually. Applications for Travel Grants, International Training Grants and Publication Grants can be submitted year-round. In 2025, AFI introduced the Care Research Grant to support projects that aim to improve the quality of life for individuals with dementia and their families.
